Easter and Pascua

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend. The Pascua is HUGE in Tandij. (Pascua is a genus of gobies native to the Pacific Ocean. The origin of the name "Pascua" is from the Spanish for "Easter" in recognition of the Easter Island range of the type specimen.) They have a big tourist place called the Calvario here in Tandil and people from all over Argentina come to see it during ¨semana Santa´. The wards here decided to have some Church open houses this weekend to take advantage of the fact that the city was filled with people. It was fun, but because last week there was so much rain and we froze, by the time Friday came I was really sick.  After talking though all of the open houses by Sunday I could barely talk! Still, it was a cool experience.

One of the things that is really big in Argentina for Easter is chocolate eggs. They have huge ones that have little toys inside. Hermana Gianarelli in our ward offered to teach us how to make them. On Thursday we went to her house and made a whole bunch to give to our Investigators.

Also this weekend my MTC comp Hermana Davidson and her comp Hermana Estrada stayed at our house. Up until now, Hermana Davidson was the only companion that I hadnt been with for their birthday, but on sunday she turned 20! We ended up being together after all.
