Divisions with Hermana Torres

Hey!
This week was really really crazy. We had to go to Bahia to get legal, and it took us out of our area for 4 days! That was really hard. We also missed our bus on the way home, so we had to wait in the terminal for 3 more hours for the next one, and didnt get home until 3am. I have never been so sleep deprived in my life. We finally got home and then the next day I was washing some dished when our sink broke. I could really only laugh. There was dirty dish water everywhere and all over everything. I never thought I would miss having a dishwasher so much in my life. I miss mops and dishwashers and organization. Man. But life is good! ! took cleaning equipment from the States for granted, sorry mom. We have transfers this weekend and I am just praying so hard that I get to stay with Hermana Bart because if not I'll cry like a baby. I know how easy my mission has been so far and I don't want the ease to end! I love you guys!

Also I am glad to hear Brent is at least doing okay. He is always in my prayers. I have such a huge testimony of prayer. It has honestly been such a miracle that I have been able to be so happy and so excited for this first part of my mission. It is really hard, but I can honestly say that I love it. Spanish is really hard, but for some reason I have been able to be really patient with myself, which we both know I havent been able to do in the past. I just have been able to really know and feel that everything is going to be fine and that this is a learning process and that I am here for a reason. I know that prayer has made that possible. Putting your focus on the work and trusting Heavenly Father to do the rest is such a cool thing. Its really nice actually. Like I dont have to worry about doing anything but my part. The spirit is the one that teaches I just have to be brave and open my mouth to talk. I love you guys so much and even though I miss you and its hard to be so far away I really do love being a missionary, I already know how hard it will be to leave and I just got started!

Road Trip to Bahia to get legal
While in Bahia I got to see Elder Scheiss and Hermana Davidson form the MTC again

Our Sink Plumbing Broke

Also this week has been freezing. I regret every bad thing I have ever said about the people who told me that Argentine winters are a different kind of cold. I GET IT NOW. The first couple of weeks I was here it really wasn't that bad, but now, man.

Other cool thing about this week was that I had my first experience with a native companion. While we were in Bahia we had to go on Divisions and I was put with Hermana Torres from Mexico. She has only been here for as long as I have and she doesnt speak any english. We were only together for about half of the day but it was really fun. Trying to communicate with each other was really entertaining. Other than that there isnt much else to tell! We are going to be really busy this week trying to catch up on visits but Im excited! I hope everyone enjoyed the 24th! Have a great week!

While we were there one of the nights we played the Harry Potter Jelly Bean game and it was the funniest thing in the world. This is Hermana Bartholomews face after eating Vomit Jelly Beans

The Hermanas that we stayed with while in Bahia. My huge head is blocking Hermana Torres.

Road Trip to Tandil

Hey!
This week was really good. One of our investigators has a baptismal date so that was exciting! If you could pray for Marcelo that would be great. He has a date for the 6th of August but I know he isn't converted yet. We are working with him to know how to really find an answer so its kind of out of our hands now!

We have been super busy and it has been FREEZING. so so so cold. I wear my thermal, 2 pairs of tights, sometimes 2 dresses, a scarf, a jacket and my big coat. It Is SO COLD. The humidity makes it so that it cuts through yuor clothes. NOT FUN!

Also we went on a road trip to Tandil for a zone conference. Everyone here talks about the pretty mountains in Tandil. They are literally little hills. Haha it kills me! I'm headed to Bahia tonight to get legal! Have a good week! Enjoy the sunshine for me!

We wear about 40 layers.  So much colder now!

Locro Loco

Hello!
This week has been crazy...again! We are super busy here in Olavarria. Lots of fun things. Its was Argentinas 200th birthday on the 9th. We had a big ward Locro party and we invited a bunch of our investigators to it. I had no idea what locro was but i was down to try it. As soon as I saw it I was SO NOT DOWN. They basically just chop up a pig and throw it into a stew with some beans. There were like huge chunks of pic skin, some of it had hairs attached to it. NOPE. So yeah I tried some and almost died. Poor Hermana Bart had to eat most of mine. She is a saint. The whole ward ended up watching and laughting at me while I tried to choke it down. Not a fun experience. But its traditional and I tried it and I will never do it again. Other than that we've just been teaching a bunch! Spanish is coming. Sloooooooly but surely. The old people here are my favorite to teach. They all want to adopt us, so cute, sometimes it's tempting!  Have a good week! Thanks for all of the emails!

The language is coming. There are good days and hard days but my comp is super great and patient with me and she has taught me a ton. Its hard to remember that I have only been here for 3 weeks and its okay that I'm not fluent. Deffinitely learning a lot of patience! Its really not that cold. I think the coat you got me is just like really good because I really haven't ever been that cold. Morning and nights are the worst but today in Centro I took off my coat and just wore a cardigan. We have lots of investigators and I am already so attached to them. It is slow to progress.  I just want to shove the gospel down their throats sometimes. Its like LISTEN THIS WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY JUST COME TO CHURCH.  I just wish they could just know what I know and then just get baptized. easy...

I am so sorry to hear about Brent! That breaks my heart. Of course he's still working. Tell that guy to take a break! I am praying for him and their family! I really do love being a missionary it is so fulfilling  I feel like my whole life has been a waste of time up until now. Haha funny how that works! I love you guys so much!

Locro Party
We made a cake for the Locro party.  But right before we left half of it ended up on the floor

4th of July

Hello!

So the 4th of July is hands down my favorite holiday on this planet, but celebrating it in Argentina as a missionary is a little tough. Thankfully it fell on a P Day so we've been able to have some fun! We made our own litlle BBQ and drew a flag. Also We colored Hermana Barts hair! Its been a fun day!

Hi mom and dad what is up??? Hows life in America.  Dad first of I want to tell you how much I freaking love my sleeping bag. Its heavenly. Also This week has been suuuper good! We have just been teachin and preachin so super busy! I am loving the people more and more. We meet tons of nice people and I am starting to be able to communicate with them a little more every day. I am SO JEALOUS of your fun 4th of July weekend though. It doesn't feel like a holiday, except we did make an American flag! That is about as patriotic as it gets in Argentina. Anyway well I still love it here and Im having such a good time. Keep a handle on Savannah, hahah its sounds like that girl is having the time of her life!

Some things I have learned about Argentina this week. They only really need three things; futbol, mate, and carne asada. Its hilarious. All the conversations we have with people always loop back around to one of those three things. We have taught a lot this week and Marcelo came to church this Sunday so that was awesome! Its been cold and rainy and Hermana Bartholomew was a little sick earlier this week but she's good now so all is well! Also I was pressured into trying Morsilla (blood sausage) this week and it is just about as horrible as it sounds. I will never do that again. Other than that all is well! Have a great week! Soak up some sun for me!

P-Day fun with Sister Bart
Barbecue Chips and the American Flag!
